Wyberba Street Parklands playground

A shady beachfront playground at Tugun with a big rope climber and slides, steps from the patrolled beach.

Last checked 15 July 2026

Wyberba Street Parklands sits right on the Tugun beachfront, so it pairs a proper play session with an easy walk to the sand. The playground centres on a large rope pyramid climber on a soft sand base, with a blue slide-and-climber unit, a swing set, a spring rocker and a bead panel for younger children.

It is one of the better-shaded playgrounds on this list, with big blue shade sails over the main play area plus mature trees, and there are picnic shelters and tables so a family can settle in for the morning. Modern toilets, including a disability toilet, sit at the southern end, and there are two car parks, one off Wyberba Street and one off O'Connor Street.

The setting is the draw: it is next to the Tugun Beach patrolled swimming area and backs onto the coastal path, with barbecues, a drinking fountain and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach.
